New Radical

Last week I was given a New Radical award from Nesta and The Observer. It’s an award given to 50 people and organisations in the UK, to recognise their work in social change.

It was brilliant to receive the award and see the work we do at Projects by IF recognised.

Working in security is challenging, especially as a designer. There are lots of barriers and misconceptions to overcome, and many of the issues are wicked problems. Not to mention that technology moves really quickly - we have more and more connected things, more private data on the web and more data moving between between services or organisations every week.

Looking at all of that stuff through a human-centred lens can be really difficult. But it’s so worthwhile - we’re designing things that work for people and put them in control.

So, a big thank you to everyone who has supported the work we do at IF. This is big stuff, and we couldn’t do it without your help and guidance.

Congratulations to the other 49! Do read about their excellent work.

By the way, we're hiring. Help us make things that change how people think about data privacy and security.
